Set up the FloCafe Kitchen Display System

Pair a local kitchen display, verify live ticket delivery, and test reconnection and printer fallback.

The kitchen display depends on the local network and the station workflow configured in FloCafe. Test it with the same devices and release used in service.

Requirements

  • A FloCafe host and KDS device on the same trusted local network.
  • Configured kitchen stations and a test menu order.
  • A tested KOT or paper fallback if service requires one.

Steps

  1. Open the KDS or pairing view in FloCafe.
  2. Use the displayed LAN address or QR code from the second device.
  3. Send orders for every configured station.
  4. Check table, order type, modifiers, notes, and elapsed time.
  5. Move tickets through new, preparing, ready, and completed states.
  6. Restart the display and reconnect the network, then repeat a small test order.

Verify success

Each station receives the correct ticket, ticket details remain intact, state changes are visible, and the display reconnects after a controlled restart.

Common errors

Different networks, blocked local access, stale pairing, or an unavailable host can interrupt delivery. Preserve the configuration and logs; keep the fallback workflow available during diagnosis.
