Set up FloCafe and test one order
For a new installation, follow these in order:
- Install the packaged release for Windows, macOS, or Linux.
- Configure a small menu and create the owner account.
- Place one test order and check the kitchen, receipt, payment, and report totals.
- Create and restore a backup before going live.

Test the exact FloCafe release, operating system, menu, taxes, printers, kitchen workflow, payment process, staff permissions, reports, backup, and restore that the restaurant will use. Keep a paper or KOT fallback for hardware failures.

Where should a new user start?

Do I need Node.js or Docker?
No. Packaged FloCafe releases run as desktop applications. Node.js is only required for source development.
Should I use FloCafe live immediately after installation?
No. Test taxes, menus, staff permissions, printers, KDS, payments, reports, backups, and restore on the exact hardware and release you intend to use.
